At Roseburg Chiropractic Center we have 3 full-time, on staff massage therapists. The benefits of having a massage therapist in our office are plentiful. We have found that patients respond better to chiropractic adjusting immediately following a massage because they are relaxed and there is less resistance to the chiropractic treatment from tight and spastic muscles.
Our masssage therapist uses many techniques to treat muscle injuries. These include hot stone massage, cupping, deep tissue, Swedish and Russian massage.
Therapeutic massage is an age old remedy which had proven to be an effective complement to chiropractic care. Both are hollistic in nature and are based on the science of the natural healing power of the body. Together, chiropractic and massage fascilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment and ensuring a free flow of nerve impulses and curculation of fuids.
Problems in the muscular-skeletal system can impede the natural healing process and often cause dysfunction and pain. Most Doctors of Chiropractic would agree that it is important to treat soft tissues such as muscles and tendons to help prevent and correct subluxations (spinal misaligments) and lessen the accompanying pain. Together massage and chiropractic (in addition to other modalities) provide you with a more complete and effective system of health care.
